[Present Ourselves to God]

Book: Romans (New Testament)
Author: Paul

Romans 6:13 :“And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.”

Today’s Meditation: God gave us the authority to serve. It is totally up to us to serve or the other way. God will bless us whenever we say yes. God presents two prospects to us- serve Him or serve sin. We either live under God or expose ourselves to be the instruments of the unrighteousness. By presenting ourselves to God, we express our unwillingness to cooperate with sins. Through this, we retrieve ourselves from sins and present ourselves to God to be His instruments. By presenting ourselves to God, we stand on His side and say no to Satan. Presenting ourselves to God is to have our members to be His righteous instruments. We do not have any choice, but to let Him use us according to His will. Romans 6:19 tells us that presenting ourselves is to be an instrument and a slave at the same time. We surrender ourselves to God and we aim to please Him. As we decide to be an instrument of righteousness, we cannot turn ourselves into instrument of unrighteousness. An instrument cannot have two purposes in this case because we cannot serve two masters.
