从心里作事 [Do Things Heartily]

Book: Colossians (New Testament)
Author: Paul

Colossians 3:23 :“And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men,”
Colossians 3:24 :“knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.”

Today’s Meditation: There is no secular or sacred duties in a Christian’s life. Everything we do will be done to the Lord if we do them for Him. We may bring shame to Lord if we do not do things responsibly or do things with perfunctory attitude. What we do today can earn us both earthly wealth and reward of the inheritance. How can we not be diligent to earn them both? Things a disciple do may seem to be done to men. In fact, he is actually serving the Lord Christ. Once we understand this, everything we do will become very meaningful. We need to seek for Christ’s mind for everthing we do since we are serving Him. We cannot rely on our natural passion, judgement, personal sensibilities and others on this matter,
