背起自己的十字架 [Take Up Our Crosses]

Book: Mark (New Testament)
Author: Mark

Mark 8:34 :“When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, ‘Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.”

Today’s Meditation: Our ‘self’ is the barricade that is blocking us from following the Lord. We must deny ourselves in order to obey the Lord and His way unconditionally. In John 19:15, ‘away with Him’ is the slogan for the cross. Thus, taking up the cross is denying ourselves. We are dead to the world. We need to deny ourselves to follow the Lord. We need to take up our crosses to deny ourselves. God arranged different crosses for different people.
