信心和无愧的良心 [Faith and Good Conscience]

Book: 1 Timothy (New Testament)
Author: Paul

1 Timothy 1:19 :“having faith and a good conscience, which some having rejected, concerning the faith have suffered shipwreck,”

Today’s Meditation: Faith and good conscience are both necessary equipments to fight the spiritual war. Both are closely related that strong faith improves the sensitiveness of good conscience while good conscience helps us to hold onto faith. Our behaviour on earth is like a ship sailing on the sea. Such ship relies on faith and good conscience as protection. Without these, our faith will be missing and we are nothing different than normal people. Our faith and our moral acts cannot be separated. We are saved not because of acts, but our acts are closely related to our salvation after we are saved. Our conscience will not be working properly once we are in contact with sins. As a result, our faith will be weakened. On the other side, properly-exerted conscience helps us to defeat sins and thus strengthening our faith to fight the spiritual war.
