主里恒心 [Steadfast in the Lord]

Book: Acts (New Testament)
Author: Luke

Acts 2:42 :“And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.”

Today’s Meditation: The word “they” is precious to illustrate that every believer is involved to reveal the body of Christ. The difference between true teaching of Christianity and heresies is at whether the teaching fits apostles’ doctrine or not. In the original Scripture, “steadfastly” not only describe continuity in apostles’ doctrine but also to describe fellowship, breaking of bread and prayers. Thus, we need hold onto the fellowship, breaking of bread and prayer steadfastly. We entered the fellowship with Christ once we receive life from Him. From that day onwards, we need to live in such fellowship and be responsible so as not to cut connection from such fellowship. The fellowship in this verse can mean “fellowship in apostles” in the original Scripture. This is due to the fact that the life of Lord spreads through apostles. A successful church is at the revelation of the life of Christ. Therefore, fellowship in apostles is the fellowship in church. A church that always remember the Lord will be remembered by the Lord. Prayer is to experience the blessing and power of God. More prayers give more experiences.
