[In Between Preachers and Believers]

Book: Romans (New Testament)
Author: Paul

Romans 1:12 :“that is, that I may be encouraged together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.”

Today’s Meditation: Preachers and gospel receivers often have unique connection and sensing of faith. 1 Corinthians 9:23 tells us that spreading gospel is to let the preachers and gospel receivers partake the benefits. Paul did not think he do not need help from other people. People who serve must not only be ready to provide others’ need but also to be ready to receive provisions from others. The provisions between preachers and believers are not only unidirectional but are bilateral. Thus, preachers need to humble themselves to benefit from fellowship. Believers in church often can get encouragements and comforts from one another. They can also find precious things from others’ faith. We need to hold onto the way in order to have our faith strengthened and soul comforted. The true fellowship between believers comes from the one another’s understanding and faith in Christ. Difficulties in fellowship and discord in churches often come from lack of understanding towards Christ. A much truer and deeper fellowship among believers will come when we pursue more after Christ.
