不求自己的喜悦 [Does Not Please Ourselves]

Book: Romans (New Testament)
Author: Paul

Romans 15:3 :“For even Christ did not please Himself; but as it is written, the reproaches of those who reproached you fell on Me.”

Today’s Meditation: The nature of carnal is to seek for our own pleasures. Examples are fitting our own opinions, do things according to our own habits, and seek for our own benefits. The nature is Christ is but “not pleasing Himself”. His way is to give up our own opinions, go against our own interests, and to neglect our own benefits. It causes judging one another and stumbling one another if we only seek for our own pleasures. If we choose to let go of such pleasures, we can edify one another, be like-minded, and to receive one another. Thus, the normality of a church prospects can be determined by observing whether the people are living in the principles of Christ.
