[Recognise]

Book: 1 Thessalonians (New Testament)
Author: Paul

1 Thessalonians 5:12 :“And we urge you, brethren, to recognise those who labour among you, and are over you in the Lord and admonish you.”

Today’s Meditation: We respect the servants of God because we understand their hardship in leading and admonishing while serving the Lord. We will respect preachers more as we understand the difficulties in their work. The leaders in church are different than the leaders in the society. The former labour to be the examples of people while the latter uses authorities to do things and enjoy. 2 Corinthians 11:28 tells us that labour is not just on physical but also on mental. One who does not put in his mind in a work of God will not be counted as serving God regardless how much he laboured. We can only admonish people if we behave well. A preacher must act well in order to be respected through his preaches. The biggest problem in today’s church is that the leaders are doing perfunctory things and those who deserve respects are not respected. At the end, there is no comforting and establishing one another. There is no peace in church if we do not respect the spiritual leaders. Respecting spiritual leaders and live harmoniously grants the church a proper prospect.
