[Spirit who Gives Life]

Book: John (New Testament)
Author: Apostle John

John 6:63 :“It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.”

Today’s Meditation: Lord Jesus’ physical body has nothing good for us. Thus, we should not hang up portrait or sculpture of Lord Jesus Christ’s image to worship. 2 Corinthians 5:16 reminds us that, we no longer know Christ according to the flesh, but to know Him through the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 3:17 tells us that there is liberty where the Spirit of the Lord is. Since the Lord is the Spirit that “gives life”, we should not contact and worship Him by appearance. We should worship Him in spirit and truth. Only those spiritual people can understand spiritual things. We should not follow flesh if we were to understand spiritual things. We should open up our minds and accept the light of God. The Lord gave us two big presents, namely the Spirit that lives in us and the Bible. Spirit is the contents of Bible, while Bible is the elaborations of the Spirit. We are just getting words if we read the Bible without having spiritual contact. We will end up in extremism if we just focus on Spirit. We might end up not restricted by truths and get lied by evil spirit. We should study the words of the Lord with correct attitude. We can have the abundant life of the Lord if we contact with Him constantly and have balance between words and Spirit.
