[Contend Earnestly]

Book: Jude (New Testament)
Author: Jude

Jude 3 :“Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.”

Today’s Meditation: We need to do all things diligently and earnestly. Being perfunctory is the habit of earthly people as well as the common problem among us. Salvation is personal as we cannot replace anyone to be saved. On the other side, salvation is for the public. Whoever willing to accept it will be saved. There are many times where we cannot disobey the order from God, for example in 1 Corinthians 9:16 Paul said that woe is him if he did not preach the gospel. The way of Christianity as in the salvation and teaching have been delivered to us at once. We cannot edit or delete any requirement to be saved. Any editing means to change the gospel of Christ. We all have the duty we must fulfil. We need to protect the truth that is given by God to us. We all have the duty to protect the truth in Christianity including the Trinity truth and salvation of the cross. We cannot compromise with the heresies. We however can tolerate the extreme. Heresies are those who change the truth of salvation, while extreme are those who have extreme opinion about victorious truth that is irrelevant with salvation.
