[Not Trust in Ourselves]

Book: 2 Corinthians (New Testament)
Author: Paul

2 Corinthians 1:9 :“Yes, we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead,”

Today’s Meditation: Our life is in the hand of God. Our death or living depends on God. Death may not be bad, while living may not be good. It is important for us to live properly in God. We often rely on ourselves in peace and stability because we have the sufficient ability to deal with everything around us. When we are in trouble especially when we feel powerless, we will turn ourselves to God and rely on Him. From this, we can see that crisis can be a turnaround in our life. Through this, we can learn to use the provision of God. Holy Spirit brings us to the cross through environmental pressure so that we can experience the resurrected Christ by forsaking the reliance on natural life. Experiencing death brings us into experiencing resurrection. We cannot experience spiritual resurrection if we do not experience spiritual death, for nothing is not made alive unless it dies. The work on the cross is for us to end ourselves so that we can experience the God who raises the dead in resurrection experience.
