同伴 [Companion]

Book: Ecclesiastes (Old Testament)
Author: Solomon

Ecclesiastes 4:10 :“For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up.”

Today’s Meditation: “fall” can mean falling down, death, fall into others’ hand, or business failure in original Scripture. When one is in adversity, he needs his companion to save him. The journeys back then were dangerous due to lack of facilities and robbery. When one is in a dangerous place, it is better to have companion for safety. Cooperation is important while alone is dangerous. Jesus sent His disciples in pairs to spread gospel as written in Luke 10:1. Sharing the happiness of success is the greatest blessing.
