领受上帝的恩典 [Accept the Gift from God]

Book: 1 Corinthians (New Testament)
Author: Paul

1 Corinthians 7:7 :“For I wish that all men were even as I myself. But each one has his own gift from God, one in this manner and another in that.”

Today’s Meditation: Preachers must be an example to all regardless on anything, unlike the scribes and Pharisees who said and did not do. Being single without marrying is not by our own will, but the grace of God. This tells a principle here, that is we should not force ourselves to imitate people by exceeding the grace of the Lord in the matters of God. We might yield worse results in the end. Any spiritual choice must be made with clear acknowledgement in the Lord. Otherwise, such choice will not last long and will yield worse ending. Paul was not afraid to speak out his own opinions while witnessing, and did not force people to imitate his way while encouraging people to do according to the gift from God, that is as God has distributed to each one, as the Lord has called each one. This is the attitude that should be possessed by a leader, which leads with sincerity without forcing people to comply.
