出路 [Way Out]

Book: 2 Corinthians (New Testament)
Author: Paul

2 Corinthians 1:8 :“For we do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, of our trouble which came to us in Asia: that we were burdened beyond measure, above strength, so that we despaired even of life.”

Today’s Meditation: God places us in trouble for He wants to train us. The greater the trouble, the more we are trained. God wants to give His strength to us, but first requires us to stop relying on ourselves. Troubles make us realise how limited we are. We should turn to God and seek for His strength. The strength of God comes from oppressions. There is no strength without oppression. Oppression is the opposite of strength. The more we are oppressed, the more strength we have. We as Christians cannot expect ourselves to live comfortably on earth, for God wants to give us strength by oppressing us everyday. The end of human is the beginning of God. When we are oppressed until despaired of life, our only hope is God Himself. When the way on earth is inaccessible, we should seek for another way in heaven.
