重担和罪 [Weight and Sin]

Book: Hebrews (New Testament)
Author: Anonymous

Hebrews 12:1 :“Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,”

Today’s Meditation: Our life is a race with many good examples of people and things around us encouraging us to run forth. Weight and sin obstructs our run. We cannot run well if we did not deal with these two obstructions first. Weight may not be a sin, but we cannot run well without laying aside weight. Thus, we need to know what is the weight on us. Weight is usually the burdens we have on our mind, such as grieve, depression, pressure, discouragement, and more. It can also be distractions such as pleasure, greed, fame, status, and more. These are the weight that ensnare us. Sin not only obstructs our way but also disqualify us from the race. Sin is foul, and those who foul will be disqualified from the race. We may run well at the start, and even the middle of the race, but we cannot get the reward without reaching the end. We need to run with endurance till the end of the race before meeting the Lord. Our runway to heaven is always set before us while the world is behind us. Regardless how far we ran, the world is always just a step behind us. Any time we turn backward, and we are away from the right way.
