善事 [Charitable Deeds]

Book: Matthew (New Testament)
Author: Matthew

Matthew 6:1 :“Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven.”

Today’s Meditation: Christians should have a habit, that is to do righteous without letting others knowing. Those who live before men can never please God. The world judges a thing based on its value, but Christians judge things based on the motive behind them. We not only cannot do bad deeds, but also those with impure motive. Any good deed cannot be done so that others can see. A good deed that truly please God is the good deed that we fear to get praise when others know. One who likes to make known to things they do belongs to carnal. Carnal people like to exalt themselves, receive attention and praises.
