职事 [Ministry]

Book: Acts (New Testament)
Author: Luke

Acts 20:24 :“But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.”

Today’s Meditation: Each of us has a way ahead of us to run since the day we are saved. We cannot consider our life and safety as factors when walking the way of the Lord. We are to finish the ministry which we received from the Lord. One who serves must be faithful and wise. We need to be clear of what the Lord gives us to do and the way we should go. Once we are clear, we need to be faithful till the end of the way to finish the ministry. The Lord does not ask each of us to be martyr, but to have martyr’s attitude. We need to be not attached to our life. Our life is our soul. Paul did not get attached to his soul. This is the attitude that each of the servant of the Lord must has. If we care of our life, we will be afraid to die. One who is afraid to die is a slave of death. Eventually, one like this does not fit to be the servant of the Lord. Our life is our ministry. We have our lifespan and time as capital given by God to finish our life and ministry. One who understands the Lord knows that his future is measured and given by the Lord with His will. Thus, he will be able to finish the ministry given by the Lord rest assured.
