[Pray for Preachers]

Book: Colossians (New Testament)
Author: Paul

Colossians 4:3 :“meanwhile praying also for us, that God would open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in chains,”

Today’s Meditation: Whether a preacher is able to fulfil his responsibilities is related to our prayers. We all carry responsibilities towards the improvement of churches. Paul prayed for them, and they prayed for him. One who is not willing to pray for others do not deserve to ask people to pray for him. Paul did not pray for his own good, such as his release from prison. He prayed for gospel instead. This reminds us that prayer is aimed for people, not ourselves. Our prayers should not be about removing the burdens in our life, but to ask strength from God to fulfil our works. Today, many people are willing to support preachers’ life financially, but only a few who is willing to spend time to pray for preachers. Although we do not have the gift of preaching, but the preachers’ preaching is in our use if we pray for them, for praying can control the gifts from God.
