[Lord Chose Us]

Book: John (New Testament)
Author: Apostle John

John 15:16 :“You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.”

Today’s Meditation: It is not from an unexpected chance that we followed the Lord, but He chose us. It is not the thought that we have better insight that we chose the Lord, but He chose us with His eternal love. Romans 11:29 tells us that gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. We not only need to bring people to the Lord (bear fruit), but also to take care and feed them spiritually so that they can stand still (fruit should remain). As we pray in the Lord’s name, we unite with the Lord on everything we pray. Lord’s matters are ours, and ours are His. Only such way of prayer can fulfil His mean and get His agreement. We cannot rely on ourselves when we pray, for we are sinful. We need to pray by the name of the Lord, which means we pray in Him so that God will hear. If we want to pray in the name of the Lord, we need to have good relationship with Him. Otherwise, we cannot understand His will. The closer we are to the Lord, the better we can understand Him.
