选择侍奉对象 [Choose Who to Serve]

Book: Joshua (Old Testament)
Author: Joshua

Joshua 24:15 :“And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

Today’s Meditation: We need to choose whether we want to obey the Lord or the local gods. The Lord Himself has proven that He is faithful and reliable, while the local gods are just human-made idols. We can disobey God and went astray in our life. We need to choose who to control us. God gave us freedom to choose whether we let Him control us, or our limited mind to control ourselves, or even let the others to control us. As long as we chose God to control us, we need to reaffirm our choice everyday. Joshua expressed his iron will to serve the Lord with his family. He once again expressed the quality of a leader. He always made his promise to God regardless how others decided, and eventually left behind a good example for us. We should live to let others to experience the benefits of God.
