托付 [Entrust]

Book: 1 Thessalonians (New Testament)
Author: Paul

1 Thessalonians 2:4 :“But as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, even so we speak, not as pleasing men, but God who tests our hearts.”

Today’s Meditation: The more God approves us, the more we are entrusted. God approved us, then He entrusts us. After entrusting, He still observe until He is pleased. It is not a small matter to be entrusted by God for it is a great honour. Thus, we should not belittle the works of gospel. The works of gospel are important because they relate with eternal life and death. We spread whatever God entrusts us with. Gospel is meant to be followed without changing the contents to preach our own. If we truly understand that we are entrusted by God to spread gospel, we will be able to hold onto His messages and will while our servings will be filled with thrust and faith. By then, we will not be affected by environment or people easily. Servings that please men can alter the contents of the message. This makes the servings to emphasise on effects and reactions of people. When a preacher preaches, he should not preach to please people, but to preach according to the will of God and be honest of God’s truth. Christians have different standards compared to the world which make us misunderstood by people sometimes. However, we cannot change our standards in order to avoid their misunderstandings.
