[Wash Feet]

Book: John (New Testament)
Author: Apostle John

John 13:5 :“After that, He poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded.”

Today’s Meditation: The Lord still washes our feet often. Everytime when we approach the Lord, we can feel all the earthly filths are cleansed by the Lord and feel comfortable just as we just washed our feet. In the Old Testament, there was a laver in between the tabernacle of meeting and the altar. Whoever that wanted to approach God needed to wash their feet. The hand used to create the world is the hand that washes our feet. In another way, the hand that is willing to wash others’ feet is the most precious hand in the universe. Fellow Christians, do not treat washing feet as something low. We cannot wash without water. If we want to wash others’ feet, we need to pour water into a basin, as in keeping the words of God abundantly in our heart so that we can live an abundant life and be filled by the Holy Spirit. Only when we can provide spirit and life to others, we can remove their filth. The point of washing feet is not at removing negativities, but also to provide. We need to wipe the feet after washing. The mission is not done without wiping. Any work of God must have its starting and ending.
