赛跑与奖赏 [Race and Prize]

Book: 1 Corinthians (New Testament)
Author: Paul

1 Corinthians 9:24 :“Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it.”

Today’s Meditation: Apostle Paul was willing to put in such hard works, sacrifices, and struggles because he was attracted by the glorious prize that God prepared for him. This prize is nothing else but the abundant Christ. Therefore, this prize became the seek of his life. This prize is also his ultimate crown. ‘run in such a way’ means that we need to run with competitive mindset. How can one obtain victory without competitive mindset? The runner must give his best effort to win the race. In the same way, we need to serve our best to obtain the prize. Whoever that wants to win must remove all barricades and things that delay his race. Christians have Christ as the excellence. He is the prize that we are pursuing. We loss all things and count them as rubbish in order to obtain Christ.
