恩赐的目的 [Motive of Spiritual Gifts]

Book: 1 Corinthians (New Testament)
Author: Paul

1 Corinthians 1:7 :“so that you come short in no gift, eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ,”

Today’s Meditation: Although the people in Corinth church was immature spiritually, they came short in no gift. This shows that our spiritual status is irrelevant with our spiritual gifts. One who is gifted spiritually may not be spiritually mature, while one who is spiritually mature may not be gifted spiritually. One who is gifted spiritually can be respected and held up easily. This can be a crisis as he may steal the glory of God if he does not have good spirituality. He may make achievements in his work as an excuse, earn glory for himself through the spiritual gifts, and end up forsaken by God. Spiritual gifts are given to us after the Lord has risen. We do not receive spiritual gifts because of our virtues. Therefore, we should not be proud if we have received spiritual gifts. We need to use them humbly for the Lord. The motive of spiritual gifts is to build church for the return of the Lord. Spiritual gifts are not for our own purposes. Our hope is not in today but the future. Our hope is not at what we have but the revelation of the Lord.
