扶助真理 [Go for the Truth]

哥林多后书13章8节：“我们凡事不能敌挡真理，只能扶助真理。”

今日默想：主的工人行事，若仅是为表明自己，叫自己受信徒的欢迎，他就是敌挡真理。若是凡事为着建造教会，成全圣徒，他便是扶助真理。上帝怎样的对我们说话，我们就照样遵行，这就是扶助真理。我们对上帝所说的话，避重就轻或转弯抹角的去行，这就是敌挡真理。敌挡真理不一定是直接了当的反对真理。凡是削减真理在信徒心目中的地位，或是造成信徒误解真理的，就都是敌挡真理。基督徒不能体恤人情或庇护罪恶而跟真理对抗，只能扶助那站在真理这一边的人。许多上帝的仆人和教会长老，碰到他们自己的亲人失败跌倒，往往为着人情而把真理放在一边，帮忙犯罪的人掩盖事实，甚至用圣经上的话，例如约翰福音8章7节，严厉镇压知情表不满的圣徒，这种情形乃是敌挡真理。

2 Corinthians 13:8 :“For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.”

Today’s Meditation: If we as servants of God do things just to present ourselves and get reputations, we are basically going against the truth. If we do things to build church, fulfil one another, then we are going for the truth. We go for the truth by obeying the words of God. We go against the truth by being evasive or beating around the bush of the words of God. Going against the truth may not be necessary to oppose directly. Anything that minifies the position of truth in our heart or brings misunderstandings means to go against the truth. We cannot go against the truth by being compassionate towards one another or cover up people’s sins. We can only stand by the side of truth as Christians. Many servants of God or elders put truth aside when they face their relatives falling. They end up covering up and even use the words in Bible such as John 8:7 to suppress dissatisfied apostles. Such situation goes against the truth.
